Retinal Detachment Surgery Recovery Time
When I had retinal surgery, it was fixed by the schleral buckle method. This is a band that is put around the eye and actually compresses the eye. Because of this, vision changes (more nearsighted). Vision takes about six months to stabilize. Mine has done that and because I wanted decent vision during that time, I went though about 3 sets of lenses in my glasses as my eyes (I had this procedure in both eyes) continued to change during the period. On my left eye, it took even longer and I have finally reached my stabilization level after about 11 months. As far as activities are concerned, I think I was on lifting restrictions for about a month and afrter that I was given clearance with no restrictions. I berlieve it is around four weeks for the victrectomy method, but I am not a doctor, so your results may vary.
These are only what I had and your doctor may have totally different instrucitons, but at least you get an idea.
