Q: Sugar Acid Reflux

I have heard that one of the primary causes of acid reflux is sugar as well as vitamins and other foods because it feeds the bacteria as well as virus and also the cancer cells, while their waste products create acidity. With too much of sugar consumption, these bad eating habits will only cause your body to produce excessive amount of acid in the body.

I can't think of not eating chocolate or even sugar.
Can I use some substitutions for all of my "sweet" needs?
