What the Heck Is This?? Tmi Srry! Posted: 07-08-07 03:20am
I will warn you now this might be a bit
tmi, dont want to gross anyone out!
Anyway Friday morning I went to the
doctors to get something for a yeast
infection. She gave me a cream to use over
night, which I did friday night. Saturday
morning I when I got up I had a bath and
cleaned myself up. I have used the creams
loads of times so I know what to expect
the next day after using them!!
Anyway Saturday night I went to the
bathroom and found a clump of what looked
liked greenish lumpy thick discharge. I
put it down to using the cream and it
'clearing me out' although I thought it
was strange to be getting this about 24
hours after inserting the cream, I dont
remember this happening before. Anyway by
the time I had gone to bed I noticed it
twice more it was either on my panty liner
or there when I wiped! This morning I am
still getting it. So surely it cant be the
cream still???
Could it be my mucus plug?? Everyone says
that its supposed to be like jelly, but
this isnt like that, its just a blobs of
thick lumpy green yucky stuff!! and if it
is would I be losing it for so long? I
know I cant have any other infections as I
only just had a swab to check it was
thrush and it came back clear of
everything else!
I am slightly confused, oh
and I am 36 weeks and 2 days by the way!!

sorry hun sounds like either bacterial
vaginosis or gonnorhea - bv being most
likely.
bv can be bought on by using creams for
thrush.
basically thrush is a fungal infection and
the cream is a fungicide.
now we all have a balance of fungus and
bacteria (good ones) on us all the time.
when you use a fungicide the bacteria can
take over because the fungicide kills the
good as well as the bad fungus.
hence there is nothing to control the
bacteria and this then means some women
develop bv.
unfortunately this means a trip back to
your doctor and probably anti-biotics.
(yes, some women get thrush after taking
prolonged course of antibiotics).

that would make sense because I have used
alot of creams etc during this pregnancy
to get rid of a re-occuring thrush
infection.
I never realised that you could get bv
from thrush creams! how bloody frustrating
!!!!! I can see me ending up going round
in circles on this!
Thanks for the advice kia, where you been
lately? havent seen you on much!
