Ive tried sex, walking, nipple stimulation..

any other suggestions??

my mini update is i am a little over 39 weeks, ive lost tons and tons of my mucus plugs, ive been told im anywhere from 50-80% effaced and i am 2-3 cm dilated. im having contractions but not strong enough of ones to dilate me and further (as of now)

so i am offical desperate and miserable.

i think someone said primrose something??
i will seriously try anything..

any suggestions??
or any suggestions on how to do what ive tried more effectively?

It sounds like you're nearly there! It's possible that your doctor might agree to start your induction. Then again, I don't know what kind of doctor you have.

As far as natural ways of starting labor, I have no idea. It took an iv to get .Alyvia out. Laughing

we talked about it and she said because it increases my risk of having a c section she wanted to wait. plus she thought id go into labor on my own, which i seriously dont think will happen. as bad as it sounds im to the point where i dont care, i want pitocin.
i think because my body is getting ready for her to come out that even induced id have an okay labor ..

ahh well see.

Well actually, I don't think it would increase your risks of a section unless they broke your water. I personally didn't want them to break my water until I was showing signs of progressing with the pitocin.

But yeah, once they break your water the clock is ticking. Neutral maybe you could ask for just the iv and tell them not to break your water?

the hospital is too crowded and there isnt very much bed space which is why i think they put me off.
they dont really want you there unless they have to have you there.
i could get on a list but i would probably be pushed back..
ahh its super frustrating because it feels like she is ready to come out, she just needs some encouragment in form of an iv lol.
im going to beg on monday at my appointment ..

Good luck, sweetie! I hope they take pity on you!

I was supposed to start my induction on my due date (the 8th) but the hospital was completely full and they had no spare beds. So I went in the next morning and the place was damn near empty. How weird is that? Confused maybe you'll get lucky that way too!

YOu're so close. I wouldn't worry about it and let the baby come when it wants. I know how you feel though. I was in your shoes 8 months ago, but I was 41 weeks pregnant. My doctor told me that all walking and all that does is decrease blood flow in the uterus and therefore irritates it. Sex caused my contractions to get closer, but it was all false labor. I ended up with a section.

i just wanted to say, it's probably better if you make some efforts to just relax and not worry about it too much. if you are stressed and your adrenaline is going it might be stopping you from going into labour. it's one of the reasons labours stall when the woman tenses up and gets stressed. if that tension can stall a labour in progress it's not going to help when you haven't even started. pregnancy is a waiting game and due dates are not set in stone. impatience is a normal pregnancy symptom. there are physiological reasons for the discomfort of late pregnancy and one of them is to prepare you to face labour willingly. the labour itself is going to be out of your hands as well and women who are able to let go and not try to control it tend to progress better. have confidence in your body and in your baby that they will decide when is the right time to get things going. i know you're probably gonna be ticked at me for saying this!!

my doctor has already told me that she wouldn't induce me until 42 weeks. she wants me to go into labour on my own because that is what is best for the baby and for me and i'm okay with that. it sucks that i'm going to be in pain for a while longer if i don't go into labour before then, but i'm just kind of resigned to the fact that i can't control everything.

anyway, i hope you go into labour soon and get the relief you need!! i feel for you being so uncomfortable and in pain.

actually karen that makes a lot of sense. i never thought about it in that way. the fact that i cannot wait to be in horrible pain is something i didnt ever think i would have.
i know i need to stop thinking about it, but i cant figure out how to!!
hopefully i will be so busy this week it will fly by.

thanks girls... i guess patience is a virtue i need

Eating spicey food did it for me. I was 1 day past my due date, and worried I would end up having to be induced. So I ate as much as I could of a really hot curry and rice. 2-3 hours later the contractions started.

Is there a tea said to help too? Raspberry?

oh my gosh, what if you eat all that spicey food and don't go into labour though lol!!! i'm up at 3:11 am with pizza heartburn so bad. but darnit it was worth it! i can get heartburn from a glass of water these days so i might as well live it up. anyway, i sure hope it works if you do try the spicey foods cuz if not you'll be regretting it! lol

Goodness please do not rush it.
you increase the chances of a painful labor and of stressing the baby no matter how you induce.

Baby is in there for a reason - that reason is that baby is not yet ready for the outside world.

a pregnancy is not overdue until 42 weeks.

Stressing and tension can put off labor as primitively the body wants a calm and safe environment to give birth.

So go get hubby to give you a gentle foot massage, put on some calm music, get out some vit e cream and rub it gently into your belly and just chill out.

Is It True That 42 Weeks Is Really Concidered Overdue?
Well, I am due today the 8th and nothing, contractions started yesterday and were going on nice when all of a sudden they stopped and then today nothing until an hour ago after a big dinner at apple Bees, but not close anough to risk going to the hospital, I am in exstreme pain and very very unconfortable and feeling stressed out! but resting alot, NO energy left to function, but now that I know I have a long time to wait because of the whole 42 w thing, I guess I will just try and ignore the fact I past my due date. Well hope all goes well for everyone as I sit and wait ...lol Very Happy
