Natural Infant Hygiene
Posted: 03-07-04 13:23pm

I am in my 2nd trimester at this point. I recently read about natural infant hygiene. It apparently has been around for hundreds of years and is used in many countries. It is a practice that encourages parents to be in-tune with their infant and not have to use diapers. Thus, the baby is drier longer and potty training later isn't an issue.

I just wondered if anyone out there has used this practice or knows of anyone who has. If so, how did you like it?

I am real interested in looking into it further. I thought i'd seek a bit of feedback first. It seems like it would be healthier for the baby. Not to mention it could save alot of time, energy, and money for diapers.

Thanks. Have a blessed day. Wink

I don't get it...So you would train your newborn to go to the bathroom? Where would they go? I think youd waste alot of money on laundry detergent and such. I dont think it would be a good idea if you had nice furniture either. Interesting though.....Can you elaborate?

They would use a botty bowl or a clean dry cloth. There's info on the internet. Just wondered if anyone out there has actually tried it lately. You have to be really in tune with your baby. This practice has been used (supposedly) for hundreds of years in other countries.

From what I know it doesnt matter how in tune with youor baby you are, they can not control their blatter. I would be shocked to learn otherwise. So you are sapposed to guess when it is time to hold them over a potty seat? I don't get it.

No-ne would want your baby in their car or home or shop or bus or anywhere else, not even near their kids. I sure wouldn't after all why would I accept or allow your child to poo or wee on my floor, furniture or where my child could get at it because there's no way you could be that in tune with your child.

In china they don't use nappies (even at age 3-4 the kids just have a slit cut in their pants between their legs for whatever to come out & onto the ground or whatever is under them, i've seen it & it is not a pretty sight & it makes walking gross!!
