Q: HIV Symptoms?

I had sex with a woman and used a condom but it broke during intercourse. I continued to have sex until I realized that the condom was broken. About 5 days later I had a sore throat which went away in 3 days. It wasnt even that bad of a sore throat. About 1 week after that I had noticed a little difficulty in my swallowing. I checked the back of my throat and saw 2-4 white dots on my tonsils. I had read about thrush and became concerned. I instantly order a hiv test and im waiting on it to get here. I saw pictures of thrush and what i saw in my mouth was nothing compared to any of the pictures. Ive always had a little white lining on my tounge, so i wasnt to concerned about that. This went away after about 3-4 days. finally a week after that i began having diarrhea. (that has lasted for about 2.5 days now). Im becoming more scared but trying to stay calm...because i think stress may have brought on alot of this. I tend to silently stress things....I also read that when a person is going through ARS all the symptoms tend to hit at once....so that gave me a little comfort. I started taking a vitamin C pill once a day about 1 week after the encounter as well as "Airborne" when i got the sore throat. The only other medication i am on is Ketoconazole which i have been taking for about 2 weeks before my "incident". That is for a skin fungus ive always had a problem with called Tinea Versicolor.
I have surely learned from this experience. If everything comes out good im going to practice abstinece as i never want to be worried this sick again. Any help given would be greatly appreciated.

That's good that you're planning on testing. That's the only way to know for sure, after all. Make sure you wait at least six weeks after the encounter before testing though.

After you take the test, you could always wait a few weeks more, then go to your doctor or a clinic to get a test from them just to be on the safe side.

You're right that people can get all kinds of crazy symptoms from stress. Many people who worry about HIV swear that they have all of the symptoms even though they don't have HIV, just like many girls who worry about pregnancy swear that they have all the symptoms even though they're not pregnant!

Thank you.....funniest thing happened today....I was at a friends house and i felt my back itch....so i scratched it and noticed a bump....so i continued to scratch it....then it hit me...my "situation"....so i ran to the bathroom to check my back....and low and behold it was red all around the spot i was scratching.....i felt my heart drop to my ankles.....i rushed out of my friends house with no explanation or anything....came home...(praying the entire ride....) and walked in the door....dropped on my knees and begged GOD for mercy....i looked in the mirror and the red spot was gone....i bruise easily...and never even thought about the fact that i scracthed the spot until it turned red.....then i realized....im really freaking out...lol....so im going to try and stay calm....i decided to not wait for this home test to come...and go to the local clinic in my neighborhood tommorow....thanks again....oh...btw...no other symptoms have came....hopefully it will stay that way....lol

That's good that you're feeling better.

Yeah, two weeks is kind of soon to test, so make sure you test in a few more weeks just to make sure. Better to know for sure than to worry and wonder!

I'm a postulant of anti-HIV project from China. In china, most of the doctors beleive that 6 weeks test can determine if you're infected or not. So I think 6 weeks is ok for you to be safe if all the tests are shown negative.
Be carm and be carefulness, wish you health.
