Q: Red Lump On Scalp

I noticed on Wednesday that I have a tiny bright red lump on the left side of my scalp, about 3 inches above my ear. It doesn't hurt and it hasn't gotten bigger since then. I'm hoping it's not skin cancer since i try to avoid the sun and wear sunscreen. I made an appointment for the doctor on monday but I was wondering what you guys thought.
