Hi, I'm going to the dermatologist tomorrow for a spreading skin growth and am scared that it's a horrible skin cancer. Skin cancer runs in my family. I'm 34, fair skin/blue eyes. I got burned a lot from too much sun exposure in the past and tanned in tanning beds. In January this year, I got this skin tag on my back. Now it's red, the size of a pencil eraser, scaly, and there's a diagonal red stripe that's swollen across it, it feels like a vein is sticking up under the skin. Has anyone on this site ever heard of anything like this? Does it sound like cancer? I can't figure out what the red line might be. Any ideas? Has anyone had a serious cancer that developed in just six months? What types of skin cancer would spread that fast? Just wondering because I'm freaking out. Thanks for your time and help in advance.
