Hi
I have just been put on topamax after many
years of gaining weight because of ssri's.
But I have a lot of questions that my
doctor didn't know about.
First of all: How will the topamax affect
my anxiety? I hear both positive and
negative stories.
And to all of you who have lost weight
with topamax how long did it take for you
to start to loose weight? When did you
first notice a change? and how high a
dosage is needed?

I took topomax for a couple years and my
pain doctor recently told me that unless
you are on 200MG per day you will not see
the weight loss. Be careful with this
drug though. You CANNOT just stop taking
it, you have to be weaned off. You will
get WICKED sick, believe me. I did it. I
went to several doctors and they all had a
different opinion about my dosage and I
never saw any good from it. This new
doctor told me that unless I take 200mg a
day, I wont see results. Just be aware of
what you are taking. Look it up and
educate yourself. :O)
