Q: Son's Blood Test
asked by: kmader on July 5th, 2007

My family doctor did some blood work on both of my teens last week, and I got the results today. On my son's test, the doctor wrote that the tests show he may be smoking. He does not smoke, and she wants to refer him to a specialist. She is not in the office until next week, and I'm terrified. What could show up in a blood test that would indicate a possibility of smoking?

Hi Kmader

Do you smoke, or is your son around others that do smoke ?
He may be a 'passive' smoker, this means that he's subjected to people that smoke around him.

I'll re-post your concern about this in the Blood Disorders Forum .. don't worry about this title, he hasn't got a dosorder, is just that there are people who know more about blood, and any effects to blood in there.

I hope you find the answers you are looking for.

Best wishes

Ginger
