Q: Doctors Names

i just want all of you to beware of posting doctors names. this is usually a no no. I have friends that have been sued by doctors because of things that were said on health forums. this is public information and people do go looking for things like this. so be careful.

Dyan, private messaging or PM is usually the way to share names. Right?

that's why I always keep my records straight in such case they cannot say that I lied about something.
Of course, of they have enough money, they can put you through the pain of frivilous lawsuit, and actually might end up paying up themselves.

I guess you cannot say 'Dr. X living in City X" destroy my life without some proof. Law are there to protect both doctors, who might be innocent in causing accidental injury and yet, patient should also have a right to name someone who is he/she had visited.

I think you can easily tell that you have seen someone and were not satisfied, you cannot say "they are bad".

There is no law preventing you from doing so, you were misinformed. You can also open a personal web site, and give a narative of what happened, along with copies of bills for teh visits, and medial records. Internet is protected by freedom of speech.

I would like to know under what section of the law, and what State was this person sued?

Appears that you are right about this, some sites were suied because of some patients intentionally criticized the doctors.

Here is some discussion on this topic from WSF:
