Q: Tests For Miscarriage

I miscarriaged twice.
I am thinking to take tests to check what's wrong beofre next pregnancy.
But I am scared about the costs for a series of tests.
I checked general prices on net, but I am not sure what my insurance will cover or not.
If you take the tests, would you let me know how much you paid and what kind of insurance you had??
I have a PPO as the first and a HMO as the second insurance.

Miscarriage
I am from Canada so I am not sure what your plans will cover. But I thought I would just let you know about my condition as it may be what you have also.
I have had 5 miscarriages from the ages of 32-35 (i am now 40 and 12 weeks pregnant)!! My doctor tested me for the anti cardio lupin antibody (i may have spelled it incorrectly) this antibody causes miscarriages usually in the first 8 weeks or so of pregnancy. I believe it is a fairly easy test to find out if you have it ( a bloodtest) also the fix is fairly easy too ( a daily dose of low dose aspirin and or a shot of heparin).
I hope this helps. I know too well how difficult infertility is!

Thank You!
Thank you for your reply.
I am happy to hear that you are now in 12 weeks!!

I am 39.. no time....
Both of my miscarriages are dring the first trimester.
6weeks..or so.
I am from Japan. My doctor in Japan told me that my egg is not quite good because of my age before my last miscarriage...But I suspect that there maybe another reasons for my miscarriages.

I will defienitely take the blood tests!!

Your English is very good. Please dont be discouraged by your age. My doctors told me the same thing. I went through 3 atempts at invitro - before when my doctor told me the quality of my eggs were not good due to age. I did finally give up on having a biological child and we adopted a beautiful little baby. He is now 11 months old. We got our little boy a month before my 40th birthday. I am still in shock that I am pregnant. Good luck to you.

My brother lived in Japan several years ago teaching English. He loved it and loved the people even more.

I just made an appointment for tests for miscarriages.
But it will be in October. Doctors in the Hospital seemed very very busy!!
I may contact other doctors in clinics.

You will have two babies!!
I had never thought about adoption. Just not familiar in Japan, but I talked to my husband. We agreed that it would be a good option.
Although I am not in a hurry to adopt a baby, I feel somehow much better.

Your brother was in Japan??? I rarely go back to my country..I miss Japaneso food so much.

I must have misunderstood you, I thaught you lived in Japan now. My brother still goes on about the food and the way of life. he really enjoyed it. iT IS too bad you have to wait so long to have the tests done. Are you seeing a fertility specialist or a obgyn. We have a real doctor shortage here where I live (thunder bay Ontario) but I get in much quicker than that.

I've been in the US for seven years.
(althougyh my English is still so Japanized..)
Nice to hear that your brother love Japanese food!!!

I made an appointment with a doctor in a hospital associated with a university. He is an OB doctor but must be familiar with the tests for miscarriage. Probably, before meeting him, I will also meet obstetricians in some clinics and try to be done what they can do.
I think there are many ogstetricians here, but many of them do not deal with the tests for miscarriage.
