My mother was diagnosed with a bleeding ulcer about a month ago and conventional treatment did not work, so surgery was discussed. She had another biopsy done last week and now is told she has cancer. She is scheduled for surgery next week. I am concerned that the outcome may not be good. She is 80 years old, weak from the ulcer treatments, anemic, and has high blood pressure.

Hi
You and your Mother will be in my thoughts and prayers. If she was just diagnosed with cancer, then this is caught early? Chances are alwasy better when caught early. You stated the last biopsy showed only an ulcer, not cancer? I do hope her surgery will be a success and she will be getting better. I know ulcers.........and they are NOT fun. Keep us posted please!
