Q: Rash = HIV?

after about 10 days after a potential hiv exposure, I noticed an oblong spherical shaped area on each side of my body about midway between my ribs and pelvis. Each area consisted of about 607 reddisth dots. I didn't have a rash anywhere else, no fever, or any other symptoms, just these mysterious areas that popped up. I scratched one and it bled a little so I am not even sure it is a rash. Do rashes bleed when scratched? The the next day they had faded greatly but several weeks later I can seen some bumps still imprinted in those areas. Now, I did have a stress test a day or two before and they scratched the fire out of me in some areas on my chest and abdomen to make sure the leads got a good connection. I am wondering if that is all it is. However, the timing of it all has me very nervous. Can you tell me if this could possibly be an hiv rash? I know I need to get tested anyway since I did have the potential exposure, but I wouldn't be so scared to get tested if ti weren't for the fact that I may have already had the rash and no what the results are going to be.

PLease answer quickly if possible as I am a nervous wreck.

thanks

Anything, even healthy skin, will bleed if you scratch it enough.

The symptoms of HIV are vague and the same as symptoms of many other things. A rash, for example, could be a symptom of HIV or of many other things.

So the only thing you can do is test.
