This afternoon we are taking jay to the hospital to see the peadiatrician (spelt wrong nvm lol).
We found out when he was 8 months old via a blood test that hes allergic to cows milk and peanuts and not allergic to wheat, soya or eggs. It wasnt too bad then because I breastfed him for the first year anyway.
Then at 2yrs old I tried him with egg, thinking he would be fine because of the previous blood test, but he wasnt! He got a blotchy itchy rash on his face after 1 mouthfull, vomited it back up and kept coughing. We used piriton allergy syrup to stop the reaction. So I took it that he was allergic to eggs, and havent given him anything containing them since.
His allergy is severe, we have to carry injections of adrenaline/epinephrine (spelling?) incase he goes into anaphylactic shock where the throat closes stopping their breathing.
This afternoon we are seeing the same doctor at the hospital we saw 4 years ago to get him tested again. Im dreading it because he will have to get a blood test
I've noticed hes ok with some items containing milk, so I want them to test him to see if its the sugar or the protein in milk that hes actually allergic to. I dont think its both. They can grow out of it by around 5yrs old, so fingers crossed he does. (Do you know how many things contain milk?!)
The egg thing I dont know but he will be tested for that again, and it should come up positive for an allergy unless hes grown out of that.
Peanut allergy is usually with you forever.
Hes likely to be allergic to bee stings too, but we wont know until hes stung.
Im not looking forward to it.
