I broke my right femur about 6 weeks ago and I just got my cast off today. For anybody that has had a broken femur, how did you bend your leg after the cast came off? Please reply. Thanks. -Sports Fan

Hi sportsfan, I havnt broken my leg but have broken my right radius twice. The first time was a young kid and cant remember the post cast issues, second time I was 18, really did a good job on screwing up a tackle playing football Embarassed , anyways I had nearly no movment in my wrist when they took the cast off (6 weeks later), the ultrasounded it for about 10 minutes, that helped a bit - the vibrations helps loosen unused muscles and tendons (or something like that) the big helper was a couple of days later I went snorkling for a few hours, same thing the next day, after that no problem, my guess was all the resistance work while swimming, hope that helps

Broken Femur
I broke my left femur. I never had a cast, just a titanum rod pinned in place. I did lots of physical therapy and think that you must have limited knee motion now after all this time. You will need to see a physical therapist who will help you with your range of motion. You have a lot of work a head of you because you were casted and must be very stiff. It is up to you to get back in shape. I am a 55 yr old female and it was a yr ago that I broke my femur. It was a spiral break but I have returned to all of my previous activities. Good luck to you.
