Q: Plan B Questions?!

Ok, we had sex very early friday morning, little after midnight. Condom broke. We didn't know what to do. My girlfriend is on birthcontrol, but she said she missed one day. So saturday we went and got plan b. She took the first pill around noon, about 36 hours after sex. An hour before the she took the next one, she said she started bleeding. I know this is a side effect, but what does it mean, is it working?

From other things i've read online, it seems like most girls get this at least a few days after, not within the first 12 hours. One more thing, I guess she hasn't had her period for about 4 months because of her birth control. One of our friends said this is probably a good thing. Should it affect anything?

Thanks in advance for any help. We're both still kinda freakin out.

Your girlfriend's breakthrough bleeding could very well be caused by her missed pill, but I don't think it can be taken as a sign that plan b is working properly.

If she took plan B properly and early enough (which it sounds like she did), you should be fine. Nothing to worry about.
