sometimes they can be fun.You never know until you try right? I went on one and lets say it wasn't what I thought it would be(though my blind date was not set up *for* me,it was set up so a friend could go out with her guy but not alone ) but others have gone on and found that they really like the person and they end up staying together.

yeah, it can be fun. the worst that could happen is that it turns out to nothing, so there's nothing to loose actually (okay maybe 20 bucks for the dinner, but you get the point). or become good friends, and that way meet more people (friends' friends)...

best to do is to go with friends, in case the person doesn't show up... hey, things happen.
