chronic back pain , facet joint injections Posted: 03-05-04 10:28am
I am 23 years old and have chronic back
pain due to a car accident. I have
undergone facet joint injections with no
success. I have now been referred to the
pain management clinic for radio frequency
ablation. I am kind of apprehensive
about it though. Has anyone out there
had this done? If so, what is it like?
Any advice is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!!

I too was in a mva and suffer severe back
pain along with many other medical
problems due to this injury, I have had
the injections, pain meds, therapy, none
of those offered any relief, what I do use
is a tens unit its a nerve stimulator and
it really does help ease the pain, I also
do alot of back stretches , its been 2
years although the pain has never gone
away it has gotten a little better, being
you were involved in a mva, and if you
have a orthropedic doctor, he can write
you a prescription, for the tens unit, and
the mva insurance should cover the cost,
mine did, I have never gone to a pain
clinic so im not sure what it is your
talking about, basically its about
adjusting the way you use to live, its
hard but for me the pain has become apart
of life, if you need any other advice pm
me id be glad to help, good luck

Have you tried a combination of
chondroitin & glucosamine (about
600-800mgs of each in one tablet) this
helps with bone problems of all sorts
& is a natural alternative, I do also
use vioxx medication. The rest all failed
me.
Like anything we're all different &
have to find what works for us.
