Q: Nose Plastic Surgery

Hello reader,

I am searching for someone to give me their experience with the cosmetic surgery rhinoplasty. I would like to know everything that happened to you while you were under-going this procedure. What inspired you to change your nose? Was it for the sake of a loved one? Perhaps you saw a photograph and realized, "hey, my nose is just crooked"? What if it was mentally effecting the aspects of your life?

I'd also like to know about what you did with financial costs. Did you take out a loan? Were you afraid of being scammed? Did you have the money beforehand?

What about the surgery, itself? Were you nervous? What did you do to prepare? How did you find the right doctor? What was recovery like?

Please, please share your story with me. It would be very much appreciated.

hi,
i had it done last thurs so not sure if i can give the right advice, but here ya go..

ive always had an ethnic nose which i've hated, most of the women in my family had it done so it was always a given that i'd get it too. although when i finally said i wanted it done, i think everyone was shocked and my parents were the most guilty that they'd made me feel bad about it all those years. i went to my doc who reccomended a guy, - this is the best thing you can do in my opinion because if anything goes wrong (dont panic!) then your doc will be partly held responsible seeing as he reffered you.
i had to pay the money beforehand, about a week before, but most places have a payment plan. usually you should ask if you can pay half before and half afterwards.

i wasn't that nervous, it's not a big procedure i guess. i practically overdosed on arnica the week before but i'm still quite swollen and bruised so not sure how much thats helped. i got to meet with the docs before, which helped reassure me too. make sure you are totally comfortable with the doctors first, and if you're not ask for a different refferal.

ive only taken two weeks off work, the docs assured me this would be fine, they also said they'd take the splint off earlier to ensure i'd be ok to go back. the swelling has gone down massivly (its been 5 days) but my left eye keeps swelling up after i sleep so ive been applying plenty icepacks/peas/arnica cream. they said while the bruising takes ages to go, within two weeks it's nothing a little concealer wont sort out :c)

hope this helps sorry i couldn't be of much use.. x
