Hi, I just joined the forum. I am 46 y/o
Hetero Male
2 nights ago around this time I had some
knife-like sudden stabbing pains emanating
from my rectum/scrotum area. This pain
would sometimes travel into my penis or
abdomen area. I went to my dr the next day
and Urinalysis was negative, cipro was
prescribed for 10 days
Went to the E/R at 2am this morning (about
26 hrs after initial onset) cuz the pain
got worse and the peridoic stabbing pain
was now accompanied by my prostate feeling
like it was on fire. No fevers, no
chills, slight burn while urinating. I
think Prostatis is most likely the cause
here but I guess what may be disturbing is
that if I have the Non-Bacteria kind then
the cipro wont help.
Its strange, in researching this ailment,
I always read about fever and chills but I
dont have them. Meanwhile, I have only
one time read about the symptoms of my
knife-like sudden stabbing pains emanating
from the rectum. Have any of you guys who
have had Prostatitis encounter these types
of sudden stabbing pains? If so, how the
hell do you sleep?
I guess I still know for sure if I have
bacteria Prostatitis in a couple of days.
I'm only on my 5th dose of Cipro but it
doesnt look good as I would think that a
cause from an organism would be dying by
now. Sleeping is going to be tough

Sorry, I don't know much about your
ailment, but I like to make a few
comments.
As I understand, prostate infections are
not always easily detected. The prostate
can actually hold the infection in, so
tests show negative. The holding of the
infection also causes problems, because
antibiotics don't always reach it. Please
talk to your doctor about this and ask if
those could be true.
Since you're taking an antibiotic I'd like
you to read what I've written so many
times about the importance of replenishing
your probiotics. It's necessary, and can
prevent further infections. You can find
it in this thread about 13 posts down...
Finally, I'll mention a device made by
High Island Health. It's a prostate
massager initially designed for prostate
health, and now marketed also for it's
ability to give men full-body, non-penile,
multiple orgasms. Aneros sells it for it's
sexual purposes, but High Island Health
concentrates on it's health aspects so
visit their site. I believe it used by
some for prostatitis. I think it can also
be used for better infection fighting as
will better allow antibiotics to get into
the prostate and fight the infection.

Massager- Best Thing For My Prostatitis In Last 10 Years! Posted: 07-16-07 00:54am
Hope that you are having some relief.
I was going to write about High Island's
prostate massager tonight and I saw this
comment.
I have been using this massager for the
last month and can say without a doubt
that I have never been as pain free for
the past 10 years.
I started using this at the same time as a
prostate seat- it has a gap in the middle
- and use this seat in my car- at work and
at home at my computer.
I can absolutely recommend these two
products.
I should mention that I had urethral
scarring as well as prostatitis and part
of my problem was a lack of blood flow to
the area.
The massager has obviously helped with the
blood flow problem.
The massager is really not as bad as it
sounds.
It works as you contract the anus and
there is pretty much nothing to it once
you have inserted it.
I have done breathing/relaxation exercises
for years- and this obviously helped- but
just try and relax as the benefits far
outweigh the effort.
Both the massager and seat/cushion can be
purchased for just over $100- and
incredible bargain for what will hopefully
bring you much needed relief.
