Enlarged Posterior Cervical Nodes

Hello,

A little background to get things into picture here:
Last summer I started to get pretty bad pain below my belly button that would roll and burn for a few seconds and would come and go througout the day. I went to the doctor and they thought it was acid reflux. I take Nexium for a few months. In July I go on vacation and get the worst food poisoning I have ever had. It got bad enough I had to go to the ER. I have since learned that what I had was E Coli. Awesome right? Anyway. I stop taking Nexium because it doesnt work and just suck up the pain until a few months ago when I go see a different doctor who sends me to have a huge list of tests done. Blood tests, stool tests, Barium Enema, CT, and an Upper GI. They don't really find much at first, but I get a call back a week later saying that they did notice a slight thickening of my intestinal wall through the CT. Doctor then notices that my Red Cell count is slightly low, I have been pale and Iron deficient my entire life so we figure it plays into having Chron's Disease.

Now that we have that out of the way, shortly after I got back from Florida and had that horrible week where I couldn't do much other than puke and sleep, I developed an enlarged lymph node in my armpit. Its not tender and about the size of a pea. It hasn't grown or changed shape since I first noticed it in December. Not as worrysome as I have read that lymphoma would cause the nodes to continue growing and be larger. However, I have noticed that the nodes on the left side, the Posterior cervicals have/are enlarged. I do not know for how long. I am a paranoid person and figured i would look at my neck nodes and see..and sure enough there was somethign there.

I guess now to the question, Would Having a disease like Chron's cause me to have enlarged nodes. I would like to rule out lymphome A) because there is 0 history of cancer in my family, B) because I don't have any of the other signs other than a non-tender node(s), and c) because frankly, cancer is just scary.

I guess I should add that I have had chest Xrays before I went on vacation to make sure that I did not have TB. If I had enlarged nodes in my chest/back would they have shown on that xray. Also, would larger nodes show on a CT/Upper GI? Another thing, is that they ran blood work to find the problem to my pain before they got the result of possible Chron's, would they have been able to detect possible Lymphoma through that prelim blood work?

Any Ideas?

If the nodes are not tender, it's probably nothing. Since you are a little paranoid, you might want to go ahead and visit your doctor just to get it checked out and be sure. I am pretty sure you are just freaking out for nothing but I'm not a doctor so I don't want to lead you in the wrong direction.
