I've been having weird irregular cycles..
since I started my period at the age of 16
(now 23).. I was a late bloomer.. I would
go for months without having a period..
and when I did have one.. it would last
for 1-2 weeks.. I'll have really painful
cramps and horrible mood swings.. after I
got married.. i started spotting.. a
little, probably for about a whole month..
I decided to do something about it and
went to see my doctor.. i had a blood test
done .. and during my ultra sound.. she
mentioned that my uterine lining is
thick.. and is causing my periods to be
irregular so she gave me birth control
pills ... to regulate my periods.. I
I stopped taking them about a month ago..
because my husband desperately wants a
child .. last month.. my period started
from the 11th to the 18th.. this month it
was.. 20th to the 25th.. I'm scared that I
might not be able to get pregnant.. should
I seek help? I also started taking folic
acid about 400mg a day.. to help w/ the
pregnancy..
I'm scared i might have Polycystic Ovary
Syndrome .. but I don't have any of the
symptoms.. and i'm pretty sure if i did..
my doctor would of mentioned it during my
ultra sound but she didn't . No one in my
family has that..
I keep hearing about Ovulex. Should I
start start taking that to increase my
chances of getting pregnant?

No one in my family has it.. Only me I
have Polycystic Ovary Syndrome. I have all
of the same problems you had mentioned in
your first paragraph. Its a blood test
that it shows up in many woman go
misdiagnosed. My periods were all weird
they put me on birth control to stop me
from ovulating. (sometimes I wasn't even
ovulating on my own.) When I did ovulate
it hurt. Are you over weight have any
unwanted hair etc.. I don't I just have
all of the period problems LOL and
problems with my ovaries.
My partener and I have been trying to have
a baby for over 6 months without any
fertility drugs my doctor said that I
would have to go on metamorpine.. To
concieve.

the medication is called metformin.... it
is a insulin sensatizing medication. Some
women with pcos are insulin resistant and
it treats it. Also what is good is to
adapt to a modified diet program similar
to one for diabetics or another exaple is
the south beach diet as well.
I was diagnosed with pcos last year and up
until last week i was pregnant, although i
lost it in miscarrage ( at 9 weeks) there
is hope for pregnancy... it just takes us
a little bit more.
a bit of advise... keep good record of
your cycles. when they start, how long
they last for and if you are good to
remember that then move onto temp charting
with a bbt (basal body temp) thermometer
Ovulex is an herbal suppliment that
contains some herbs that are NOT safe
(black cohash) to take during pregnancy...
I was roused into purchasing it when we
first thought i had pcos and it made me
feel like crap to be hones and I was out a
whole lotta money. I did take it for the
three months and nothing.. what did help
was working with my gyn who works with
women with pcos. and changing my eating
habits.

I'm not overweight.. I haven't had my
period since the last time I mentioned it
on here. Last week, for a day.. I had some
light brown discharge.. that got me
thinking I was going to go on my period..
but didn't. I'm seeing my gyn next month
for my yearly.. Should I ask her about
Metformin and Clomid?
If I decide to go on a diet.. which would
be the best one?

Hi x-bad. I am a personal trainer, as well
as a personal wellness coach. I also work
with the company herbalife. They help with
and just an overall maintenance of the
body. I would really like to discuss a
"diet" with you that is healthy, as well
as help you with your irregular period. I
have had a lot of issues with mine so I
understand what you are going through.
There is a tablet with herbalife that you
can go on that can help with all of those
problems, as well as just being more
healthy. Because a lot of problems can be
from your diet, and the fact that you
aren't getting enough nutrients in your
body, because food alone doesn't give you
everything you need. I hope I can help
you!

It doesn't sound like PCOS to me at all,
to me it sounds like endometriosis is more
of a possibility.

Hi I am wondering if I have the same
thing. Im 27 years old and my last two
periods have been late. I've not been very
well over the last few weeks, tummy pain,
feeling sick, headaches and I have a blood
test this Friday and I am waiting for a
scan as well. My period for this month has
just arrived (2 weeks late!) but I have
been worried about everything. Would my
blood test pick anything up?

Hmm, soo I had an ultrasound when I went
in the last time I was there, ultrasound
can detect endometriosis right? I also had
some blood test done but my gyn didn't
mention anything to me. She told me if I
wanted help getting pregnant I should see
a specialist. Should I see another doctor
to get a second opinion?
When I do go on my period.. they'll be soo
bad to the point where I can't get out of
bed sometimes.. is that a sign of
Endometriosis? What do I need to do next?
Do I need to see a specialist?

i have pcos and im the only female in my
family with it..and i go 4-5 months
without gettng it and when i get it im
miserable. PCOS can cause endometriosis
because your body is building and building
the lning but you arent releasing it.. i
tryed the pill but blood pressure ddnt
agree i was at stroking levels and i just
was on metformin and it was dropping my
blood sugar to low.. so im heading back to
the doctor.. and pcos gets over looked
horribly i have had it ever since i
started getting my period at age 11.. its
a simple hormone blood test. they test
your testotrone levels and the main
indicator of it is your lLSH to FSH ratio.
if its more then 2 to 1 (im not sure which
one has to be higher i forget) then they
diagnois you with PCOS. i dont actually
have any cystic ovaries i just dont
ovulate lol
