I am on birth control, but also on medicine that can decrease the effectiveness of birth control. I'm Seasonique and I know that break through bleeding is common, but I am having this along with cramping 14 days after the beginning of each pill pack, so I don't know if this is normal with this brand of pill or means that I'm ovulating.

I want to be certain that I am not ovulating and am considering using an ovulation kit to make sure that I am not ovulating. Will this work? Will I have LH in my system even if I am on the pill and not ovulating?

Well, if you're ovulating, it'll show up. If you're not, it won't. That's what I would assume, but it's probably far more complicated than that.

To be safe, just use condoms while you're on this medication. If the medication is a permanent thing then perhaps a different form of birth control that is non-hormonal would work better for you.
