Q: Is bruise serious ? wound not healing ...
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 28th, 2007
I have a bruise on my chin I recieved almost 6-7 months ago when I was playfighting with my younger brother. It stiil hasn't healed and I''m worried it will be with me forever. Is there any way I can speed up the healing process? I eat many fresh fruits and vegetables daily, as well as visit the gym almost 5-6 times a week so my physical health is not suffering at all. I shave weekly and had hoped that the skin would have exfoliated itself off by mow, but no luch as of yet :(

Any suggestions would be helpful
thanks

It is hard to diagnose a “bruise” across the internet... but in normal occasions any wound or contusion should heal in 2 weeks at most. 6-7 months is too long a period for a wound to heal. Perhaps there is a foreign body in the wound that prevents it from healing. You should go to your GP as soon as possible.
