Q: Red Spots On Legs

My husband, 59, had a few red spots on his legs the other day (size of a small pea) and now there are lots more, some bigger, some smaller. They are pure red and some ever-so-slightly raised. He has had insomnia and takes Xanax lately, along with alcohol daily. On a positive note, he just started working out at the gym 2 weeks ago, doing more exercise than normal. Does anyone know what this could be? I know its not scabies, psoriasis, excema, rosacea, hives, impetigo....it doesn't itch and when pressed by a clear glass, it doesn't fade. Hope its not something dangerous! This came on in a week. I've seen staph and this doesn't look like it....pure red, no ulcering. Can anyone help?
