I just turned 50 and am experiencing my first late mid-life crisis. I am light headed 24x7. I have very soft stool to diarrhea. My heart rate is 60/minute. And my BP is 120/68 (just took it). I am exhausted most the time; I sleep 2 to 3 hours then awake for 4 to 5 hours and then sleep again for 2 -3 hours and go all day hovering on low gear.

First I thought it was not enough water. But that is not the case, I drink enough. Then I thought it was because I was drinking coffee so I quit but that did not help.

I am attending school so everything in that department is fun and exciting. I have no problems studying but focus is not as strong as it used to be. My neck and shoulders are tighter than should be but they are not causing major pains.

Oh, also loss of appetite. Use to be a pig but now not even hungry. Am almost 6 feet and about 190 pounds. No real exercise program...just walking my great dog.

No numbness or tingling down arms, hands or legs. No lower back pains, no stabbing pains behind (at shoulder). Nothing spelling heart problems.

Will see MD in about 3 weeks. HMO is booked solid

Thanks.

Hello Natcire. School can cause a lot of stress. Even good stress. The tightness in your neck area can throw off your balance, and cause a light headed feeling. A lot of physical changes occur to us in our fifties, sleep problems are so common. Try some Melatonin, it is a natural hormone you can buy in the health food store. Of course it is good to get checked out, but not sleeping well can make us feel bad!
