Q: Yasmin & Antibiotics?? Help!?!

Hello...

Well... my fiancee called me this morning with some interesting news. Since she has been on Yasmin (over a year), she has always started on the same day... today.

Last saturday... she didnt feel good... had a sore throat and was tired... it got worse sunday so we went to the doctor and he put her on omoxycilin.... the same day she started her placebo (spelling?)

Well... she started to feel a lot better... but... she didn't start as ushual.

The last time we were sexually active was a week or so ago... and no fluids were exchanged from what i could tell... but we were not using a codom or any other form besides the birthcontrol... we just stopped before anything happend.

So... from what Ive read... I know antibiotics can effect birthcontrol in wierd ways... so would this be one of them? could it be because she was sick? or... should we be worrying and go take a pregnancy test?

Thanks all!!

She needs to call both the person who prescribed her birth control and the person who prescribed the antibiotic, and ask them if this particular antibiotic interferes with the kind of birth control she is on.

she cant get a hold of her doctor... and the one who perscribed it was at a local mec convient care place... and wasnt very bright at that...

anyone else have issues like this? ive read other places... being sick or taking antibiotics can cause these issues as if you arnt on the pill... can make you skip a month.. or be a few days late...

anyone else?

She is likely not pregnant, because your last sex act was when she was protected by the pill.

You have not had sex since, so that also helps.

She can start the pill asap, but she must wait 7 full days for it to become effective.

she didnt ever stop taking her pill... but our thoughts were correct...

she started this afternoon instead of in the morning.. kinda odd... but i guess it was because she was sick and all...
