Q: What are Gallbladder Polyps ?
asked by: DoctorQuestion on June 27th, 2007
I had a health screening to check cardiovsular disease, stroke, pelvic and abdominal abnormailities. I was told by the sonographer that she found 3 gallbladder polys sizes .6cm x .4 cm. I don't know what exactly that means. I scheduled an appointment with my primary physician in two weeks but i am really worried it could be something else. In the the past 5 mos I have gotten really mild spasms that go away right away. Food does not bother me since I eat a relatively low fat diet.

Gallbladder polyps indicate tumors in the gallbladder. The real nature of the tumors can be revealed only after a gallbladder removal surgery and a histo-pathological examination of the removed gallbladder. Diet has nothing to do with gallbladder tumor occurrence.
