Q: Healthy eating weight gain

i am 17 yrs old around 5'7-8 tall and weigh 115 lbs on average. i try to gain weight but can't seem to be motivated enough to, and even if i am, i won't be able to eat. my eating pattern is soo out of order. the first meals around 2 or 3 pm, then once more at 5-6 and the last "meal" is around midnight when my mom comes home. Sad so hopeless... and i feel like i'm the only one who has this problem around here

Have you done anything about this yet? Can I suggest you try to drink some broth in the morning or something that is liquid with perhaps some protein in it. You need to start gradual and then your eating pattern will change. Also go see a naturopath they can help you with your situation and find that what works for you. Keep us informed on how you are doing.

ok. so I'm your age except I'm not as tall.. I'm 5"5.

When I use to live with my mom, I had the same problems. I would skip meals and eat most during 12pm, and 1-2AM when I had dinner with my mom ( business women ) and so.. the thing is. I have problems with weight. My eatting habits are soo out of order and I'm actually pretty big compare to you. I weigh 140-144 lbs. I think both of our goals are to distribute meals in a more healthy time frame, and eat the right amount of veggies, meats, and dairy. Maybe you should meassure out the foods you eat to make sure you're getting enough protein and such.. ? It sounds to me that you're just not eatting enough.. I met up with a nutritionist and she told me that since I'm eatting so irregular that I make up meals during dinner time and I go to sleep right away.. so that's why I'm chubbier. I don't know.. but yeah you're not the only one with irregular eatting habits. Sad
