i think i have bipolar, i have been on several psychiatric drugs and they do not seem to help at all. before i stopped going to my psychiatrist, she was going to have me try out lithium. it was an option since nothing else worked or made it worse. lithium, the one available through prescription is of a different compound and stronger than orotate, and i heard it comes with many side effects for some. i read somewhere online that lithium orotate is safe[r] for mild bipolarism. might be wrong but its worth a try since i feel shitty most of my time awake Sad

Hi there,

I seen your subject and I thought I'd reply and give you my personal opinion.

Have you been diagnosed with Bipolar?

I have bipolar disorder, I was on lithium for approx 15 mths. I have to say it was the best thing for me at the time for my illness. It does have side effects though. I have put on approx 20lbs and they said it was due to the lithium. You get water retention aswell especially at the tops of your legs.

Lithium kept me very stable and I have no doubt whats so ever it was the best thing for me at the time. I have been off lithium for the last 3 mths and believe me I truly notice a difference in myself with my mood swings. i never really had mood swings when I was on lithium.

Hope this helps you.
