Q: Painful Periods

I am 34 and for about the last 2 years I have been passing clots with my period. I have talked to a doc. But he keeps telling me it is normal for my age. But it seems like every other month they get worse and worse. They are painful when I pass them. I have had my tubes tied for 7 years my flow on the first day is good the second is splotchy the third and forth day I only bleed after I pass a clot then it is a gush of bleeding... God it is weird to talk about. Sometimes I feel like my insides are being pulled out when I am trying to pass a clot. Has anyone had anything like this?

My problem with getting a second opinion is my insurance covering it. It doesn't like to pay for me to see anyone other than my primary care provider without him making a recomdendation for me to see a specialist. *sighs* If i knew what questions to ask maybe that would help me to get him to see that i need to see someone else.

I have the same problem
I also have had my tubes tied and I'm 34 years old. My period keep getting worse and worse. I've been checked for everything and finally doctors tried to put me on anti depressants (even though I AM NOT DEPRESSED!) The clots are huge, the flow is uncontrollable, and the pain, oh the pain is so bad that I can't even hear someone when they are speaking to me, let alone concentrate on anything else. This can't be normal, yet there has been no medical diagnosis for what is wrong or what I should do. Regular pain pills and mucsle relaxers JUST DO NOT WORK AT ALL!!! Sometimes I have to take a handfull of sleeping pills over the course of two days so I can just sleep through it. Nothing else seems to work. And I HATE taking pills, yet every month I have to. I'm so tired of living like this.

I have the same problems..
But I haven't had my tubes tied. I am however, 34 years old. I had thyroid cancer and right before it was discovered, about 3 years ago, the clots started, and the pain started getting worse, and every year it just gets worse. I also find nothing helps the pain, sometimes a hot pad helps a small amount, but sleeping is already hard for me, let alone with pain like this every month. My docs keep telling it part of getting older and my lack of thyroid to control my hormones correctly.
