Or are they like other tissues in the body. In other words, does a cell from a human embryo differ from that of a developed person?

In what they can do, they are obviously different. But in their "rights" and "protectibility" I believe they're just like the cells on my toenails.

If you give status to embryonic stem cells then you'd have to do the same for adult stem cells. How would we work that? Certain cells in each of our bodies are morally protected???
