okay, i'm still pregnant, but i was just wondering about this because my boyfriend's family wants to take us to .Mexico next summer with the baby. Joleigh will be about 8/9-mo's of age when we go.

do we have to purchase a plane ticket for her? i tried to research it online a little bit, but came up with nothing. if i bring her in a carrier, which would take up a seat, would i need to purchase a ticket for her? i would think so. but when i looked up buying plane tickets via online, the age of a child is 2+. therefore, we can't check off a ticket for her.

ugh! this is so confusing to me. it's a long time away, but i was curious to hear opinions. or personal experiences.

I can't asnwer your question, but the baby (well everyone actually) will need a passport. That's a new thing now.......so my daughter and I will need to get them soon. Hubby already has his.
I think they do charge for a seat, now that I think about it.

i think that you can check her carseat with the luggage and then hold her on her lap so that you don't have to buy a plane ticket for her until she is 2 or older. i've seen people checking the carseats before so i'm pretty sure you could do it too!

ya terra is right, if you want her carseat on the plane you will need to buya plane ticket but they can prob do it discounted, when i flew here joseph had his own seat because there was no way he would sit still in my lap for that long so i had to have him in his carseat. I dont think they charged full price for his seat either. But you can always have her in your lap if shes a good baby and sits still and its nota really long plane ride that way you wont need a ticket for her. But yeah even babys need passports nowadays.
