Q: Is bleeding during sex / intercourse cause for concern ?

after my boyfriend and I are intimate i have a tendency to bleed sometimes a lot and sometimes a little. is there cause for concern?

Yes, bleeding during or after intercourse can be a cause for concern. Bleeding after intercourse (post-coital bleeding) can be due to many reasons such as: infection, a benign polyps of the cervix, use of IUD or diaphragm, or a vaginal tear. You may consult a gynecologist for advice about how to diagnose the cause of bleeding and its treatment.
