Brachitherapy Treatment For Prostrate Cancer Posted: 06-22-07 19:42pm
Hi, I am new to this forum but would like
some information for my partner. He was
diagnosed with prostrate Cancer nearly
three years ago and had brachitherapy
treatment just over two years ago. His
PSI was down to .4 at his first blood test
after treatment but is slowly creeping
back up again it is now 1.9. He is
currently having fortnightly blood tests
and if it goes to mid 2s he will have
another biopsy to see what is happening,
which he is not looking forward to. His
specialist said he has to be patient but
with it going up on an average of 20% per
month it is obviously a concern.
Having had the treatment we were lead to
believe that he could not have any further
treatment ie removal if he chose this form
of treatment, can anyone advise if this is
correct or if this is normal and will
eventually start going down again?
Sorry to ramble on but obviously we would
like to hear from anyone else who has had
the treatment and this happened to them
and either rectified itself or had further
treatment.
