Hi,
i've posted on this forum a few times and got some good feedback so I thought I would try it again.
I have been off the pill the past three months and have been ttc, but there is still no baby that I know of. Last month my period was 3 weeks late then it came for 2 days. I took pregnancy home tests and they were all negative. I was so upset when I saw the negative signs. Does anyone know how long it usually takes to get pregnant? I'm so anxious to have a baby. I hope maybe this will be the month. I'm suposed to start my period tomorrow! Please reply with some helpful advice !

Hi there
well you must remember that since you were on the pill, you're body has to take time to re-adjust to no longer being given artificial hormones.
Doctors recommend that you wait at least til your first proper period until you ttc so they recommend using condoms til then. This is so that they can determine how many weeks/months your pregnant by using your lmp (last menstral period) as their guide.
Some people conceive straight away, some take 2 months and some people a year.I guess it depends on the individual and how long they were on the pill. Do not be disheartened-your time will come! Just let nature take it course & dont get stressed out because you will get your little one :d best wishes in ttc (i hope your period doesnt come!)

Well I agree... Beings that you were on the pill it might take a while for your body to adjust. It will come though! Good luck!

I am ttc too... I was on the pill for many years and we are going into month eight of trying.

Keep your head up though... It will happen! (or at least that is what people always say to me :p )

Im on month #2 ttc and I was on the pill for 12 yrs or more, whether or not u get pregnant all depends not only the pill but how relaxed the mother is and u have to remember that odds are not stacked in our favour to get pregnant afterall there is only a certain amount of days to get pregnant in one month and within those certain months the conditions have to be perfect, for lack of better words.

Keep trying and make sure u enjoy the experience as well as the outcome favourable or not.

It took my husband and I three years to conceive. The month I literally gave up on trying and thought it was hopeless, I got pregnant. I really do believe that once you quit trying and and don't think about it ( I know this is really hard to do and sounds like a qliche) it will happen. Hang in there, I know you'll have a little one of your own. Smile

Thats true! Ive heard people saying that-i guess if you get stressed,it doesnt work.If you try not to focus all your energy on it,it'll happen when u least expect it!

Hello this is lucyandy here. I know exactly how you feel I came off the pill in january and have been trying to conceive since, the only problem is I haven't had a proper period at all yet so fingers crossed thers nothing wrong there. Its so frustrating when you are desperate for a little one but fingers crossed it will happen when the time is right. Smile
