Okay, we bought this new house and requested for the carpets to be professionally cleaned because they have a cat and a dog. Well, they got them cleaned and now the house smells like pee. The ammonia smell is so bad. The carpets are almost brand new but apparently their dog, cat or both still peed on the new carpet. It never smelled when we were in their before. We already closed on the house so there is nothing we can do. The carpet cleaners came by again and stated that it does smell pretty bad. The owner is a real estate agent and said we should have stated in the contract to have a deep cleaning. He also said that it smells like a bunch of cat pee and that cat pee is really hard to get out. He will be doing a deep cleaning on tuesday and will be neutralizing the carpet today to keep us from smelling the smell. We have two dogs as well and I hope they don't pee all over the carpet because they smell another dog or cats pee!! GRRRRRR. I hate pee smell.

I had a pest control guy come over and spray the house, interior and exterior. They claim to be safe for babies and pregnant people...I hope so. I guess the insect population on the outside of our house was pretty bad. We also had about 10 wasp nests around the house and inside the storage shed. I am so glad we had this done before our furniture was moved in!!! Luckily we don't have a bug problem inside the house.

I am supposed to be packing right now and really can't get myself to even start. My husbands parents are coming in town today to help us move. I am trying to be happy that they are helping but I know I will just be irritated. I am in an extremely irritated mood anyways and they will just add to it.

My son is at the woman's house who will be watching him and my newborn when I go back to work. She is so wonderful. I just can't be around my son today or I would be mean due to my general irritation with everything.

When I went through the house today, I noticed it was a little dirty. This irritated me. The people who sold us the house are extremely clean very organized people. The house is hardly dirty but I am irritated. I feel like I need to scrub everything because the dirt is not ours. I think it's an over the top nesting thing. I went over there to clean but couldn't because I was ready to vomit due to the pee smell!!

Getting gas was just so irritating today. I wish we lived in Oregon where it's against the law to pump your own gas. I hate trying to find a gas station, getting out, having to pump my gas, and then watching my money quickly disappear because gas is just so darn expensive. This irritates me!!

Traffic irritates me. Why do so many cars have to be on the road at 1:00 pm??? It takes forever to get anywhere.

Sorry, I am just irritated about everything. I wish I could be positive right now but it's just not in me!

I am sorry you are having a bad day. I hate pee smell also and cats pee is really bad. My boyfriends cat peed all over his couch one time and it just smelled sooo bad, and couches are harder to clean..I just wanted to throw it out, lol.
I hope your day gets better and somethings happens you can smile about. Things will work out, but I can imagine with being pregnant, trying to move and the problems with the house then just everything else just adds to the frustration. I sure would be irritated too!
Take a few deep breaths(not in the pee house though, lol). I know its hard, but try and think of some positive things...again I hope your day goes better Smile

awwww you poor thing!!! i'd be pretty irritated about the whole cat pee thing too. i'm surprised they can't do anything about that at this point. that really is the worst smell in the world. sorry you're having such a bad day!! i'm currently trapped in the computer room with a bunch of shelves and boxes and stuff so i can't really move around. there are big burly men in my living room making a lot of noise tearing down the walls. we have started to redo our living room and it's probably going to take a week to get it back into any kind of livable shape. i'm not supposed to be around all that plaster dust so i'm confined to the office with nothing to do but post my little heart out on this forum lol. i'm taking some kids to see shrek later and i'm scared someone will mistake me for the star of the show. gad my feet are gigantic!!!!

hope you feel better soon. maybe the smell will fade once the carpets are thoroughly dry.

Thanks guys! You are so sweet. I honestly think part of my irritation is hormones. If not, I am going to use that as an excuse anyways. Then again I think a lot of people would be irritated if they bought a house with horrible ammonia pee smell.

Karen, you sound like you are going through a lot of stuff in your house as well. It's great you are doing it now instead of later! you will have such a great time seeing shrek. The new one looks just as funny!! I feel like a shrek.

I think Vanessa is moving next week, when she is 38 weeks pregnant. Now that would stink.

I have plenty to do then go on this forum but I just see my computer and keep coming back for breaks (meaning every five minutes). So sad.

Lol, blame it on the hormones Smile I think it really does help to write(type), vent about things. I havent gotten to that point here yet, but I am sure a day will come where I am just as frustrated. It's nice to know that we can all come here and let it out and others will be supportive and say kind words. Good luck to you both in your move and getting settled before the babies come.

Thanks Shannon! I love this forum. I feel like we are one big family...with some of the dysfunction included of course.

cat pee is the worst ever, my old cat used to pee on my things and i ended up throwing it out because i couldnt get the smell out of it even after washing and scrubbing it. I can bet that it has went through the carpet to the floor underneat so its even harder to get that smell out. It would really suck to have to rip up brand new carpet just to get rid of the smell. Hopefully your day gets better or tomorows a better day. Smile

Thanks guys. The people who are helping us move are coming in an hour. I truly hope that it doesn't smell like pee when we get to the house. The carpet cleaner came by the house and sprinkled neutralizer on the carpet. He will be coming back in a few days to give it more of a deep clean - which better work.

I won't be able to come on here for a few days because my internet won't be hooked up Sad I will be going through forum withdrawal. I have enough things to keep me busy.
