I am waiting to see an incontinence advisor....as my go thinks i have a weak bladder/pelvic floor.
The thing is i dont pee myself all the time...it mostly starts about a week before i am due to start my period. I dont even have to make a sudden movement/sneeze etc...i can just be walking down the street and i will suddenyl feel myself leaking urine...its not alot, just dribbles, but sometimes its enough to see ive had a small accident. Or i can go to the toilet and when i have finished i dry myself then when i stand up i get more urine run out of me!
Like i said this is mostly happens about a week befiore my period and last until a few days after i have started, then i am ok for about 2 weeks!
Anyone any idea!
I am 40, and i also have a disc prolapse in my back and arthritis, but dont think these are anything to do with it.
Thanks for any light you can shed on this problem! Confused

Have you had a recent .M.R.I for your disc problems? We treat this very seriously in my office, as it can be a sign of big problems. You may think about contacting the physician who is treating your back and letting them know what is going on. If that is clear, then you might think about trying physical therapy with a therapist who specializes in pelvic floor dysfunctions. Have you had any children?

Hi thanks for the quick reply!
yes i have 3 children, the last beig born by c section. I just had an MRI last week actually, arranged by my rheumatologist. I didnt mention to him about my bladder problem, and the mri was of my back and pelvis due to arthritis. Would he be able to see if my prolapsed disc is causing any problems? I have had it for 12 years now. The pain in my back has been alot worse the last year, i put it down to the arthritis, but maybe its my disc playing up!!
thanks Very Happy

Yes, I think you should at least get that ruled out as the cause.

I hope that's not the cause. If that looks fine, I would be willing to bet that having children may have put a little bit of stress on your pelvic floor muscles. A good therapist can help with this. good luck.
