Q: Am I Addicted ?

For the past 2 or 3 years, I have had trouble falling asleep every night. It would usually take me about an hour up to 4 hours after getting in bed. Due to having to wake up at 6 every morning for school, this sleep problem wouldn't do. So i started taking whatever i found in my house to help sleep. (Tylenol PM, Advil PM, Nyquil, etc.). Now whenever I take them I usually fall asleep in about 20 minutes, but when I don't it takes about an hour or more. Am I reliant on these medications to fall asleep? What can I do to end this insomnia?

Do a workout to wear yourself out before bed perhaps. Could be dependent, i'm not sure what the meds are you are talking however remember that it took you up to an hour or more to fall asleep before you took them.

Read!!
I have to read to enable me to sleep. Tylonol (acetaminophen) is bad for your liver in the long run. Go to the library and find something that interests you and if you cant read a book try reading a magazine or something. It takes me at least an hour though to fall asleep. I dont think you are dependant or anything yet so give reading a try!!!

There are so many non-narcotic sleeping aids out there that you doctor can perscribe. I would aske about it. Anything can become addicting after a long time.
