My Midwife Appointtment
Posted: 06-21-07 07:11am

I've just seen the midwife this morning. My blood pressure was up (yet again) and i've got traces of protein in my urine (yet again), i have to be on the look out for pre-eclampsia, because there wasn't enough protein in my urine to be really concerned there wasn't alot she could do, if it had been the tinyest bit higher she would have booked me in to be induced tonight. I've got another appointment to see my other midwife on the 26th and if my blood pressure is up again and i still have protein in my urine she'll book me in for an induction imediatly if she see's me to be in danger or she'll do a membrane sweep to see if that helps her along. In the meantime my midwife has told me various things to do which can induce labour naturally because they are quite keen for her to come now but not keen enough to induce me.
On a happy note it's my 16th tommorow Laughing

oooh! firstly happy birthday for tomorrow!!!

Pre-eclampsia thing must be horrible to have hanging over your head but atleast they are keeping a close eye on you and it sounds like your not going to be pregnant for much longer!!

what things have they told you to do to bring labour on?

Sex, Dom is very happy about that one, can't think why Laughing
Foods that with agrivate my bowels, e.g. curries, lots of fruit etc.
Nipple stimulation, although she said it has to be done for hours.
Walking so that gravity does it's job Laughing
PLus she said that occasionally drinking a small amount of red wine (literally only two mouthfulls) can bring on labour. As much as i love red wine and miss it i'm way too scared to do that plus i'll probs be paralectic on the floor after a sip it's been so long Laughing . Dom should be here somewhen soon so if i don't reply you know why Laughing Wink

sorry about the bad day hun!

I am sure a small glass of red wine wouldnt hurt mika if thats what your worried about and besides a nice curry and glass of wine then a quiet relaxing romatic night with dom Wink thats got to be the best way to start Mika on her way!!

I might have a glass of red wine tommorow night on my birthday, i just get worried because for the past nearly 40 weeks i've been told not to do it and now i'm suddenly allowed to, i guess it will just be a one off because i'll rarely be drinking while breastfeeding her, so it should be alright. I told .Dom not to get me a present this year so i'm thinking i might force him to be my present Laughing
