Can I Schedule My Period a Week Early On Seasonique? Posted: 06-21-07 02:07am
I have been on birth control for 4 years
or so, and I've been on Seasonique for
about 9 months now. I get my period once
every 3 months, so I take 12 weeks of
active pills and 1 week of "inactive"
pills, though they aren't really inactive
since my doctor did say they have a low
amount of hormones. Also, I never miss a
pill.
Here is the problem! I am supposed to get
my period the week after next. So I have 2
weeks of pills left in this pack: 1 week
of active pills, and then the 1 week of
"inactive" pills, in which I will have my
fake period. I just now realized I am
supposed to see my boyfriend the week of
the inactive pills (Week 13), which is
totally unfair since I haven't seen him in
weeks. I really do not want to be on my
period when I finally get to see him.
My
question is this: Can I flip-flop
the 2 weeks? Meaning can I take my
"inactive" pills next week to force my
period a week early, then follow it by the
1 week of active pills so that I am not on
my period when I see my boyfriend? Then I
would of course start a new 3 month pack.
Is this safe? Does this do anything to my
chances of getting pregnant? I am
terrified of getting pregnant so if there
is a chance it will get me pregnant, I
won't even try it.

You can attempt to do that yes...
The rule is this.. You must take at least
21 active pills followed by no more than 7
pill/day break.
You can take 25 pills and have a break,
35-45-55 pills and have a break, but it
has to be at least 21.
Which you would have...
You may be able to have an early period,
but you could also have a lot of spotting,
and continue spotting into the next
active week. Which would be normal.
