Q: Anxiety Leads to Tummy Problems

I have constant anxiety. I feel anxious when i go anywhere. It started when i started college. That was 3 years ago. At the time i had panic attacks, but thank g-d i have gotten that under control without any medication. However, lately when i feel anxious my stomach starts bothering me. This makes me have to go to the bathroom. The problem is that i am embarrassed to do #2 in public places or by people's houses. This leads me to have even more anxiety. This is why i stopped going lots of places even though i want to go out and do things. Is there anything that i can do about this? I would rather not take medication.

The only non drug treatment with a good track record is one or other variant of cognitive and behavioral therapy, CBT itself, Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy, etc. Ask your doctor to recommend a therapist in your area.

Don't Beat Yourself Up!
I used to have the same problem as a child and young adult.

I think it was a worry thing always wishing and hoping things would be right.

Than one day, I lost my mind.

Probably the best thing that ever happened to me.

Because, than, or now.

I never worry myself sick any more.

I don't care what people think.

And the higher power is around me; my family, my surroundings, my friends and those that I come in contact with on a daily basis.

So try, as hard as it might be to think positive.

Go out and get in tune with nature.

Think "healthy".
