Q: Job Offer

I am so excited I just got a job offer (within the company) and I really hope they let me take it!

Here is a little history: I was the a/p department for a new division that was starting for my company back in 2005. I was young at the time (18 ). Well the division did well, very well. I was promoted to a/p manager soon after (I was 19 at the time....A very big deal at my co. I was the youngest in that position in the history of the company by like 5 years). Well, we did so well that they were moved out to .texas because they were to big to stay here. Well, I didn't move with them (agianst every fiber of my being) and eventually was forced to take an a/p clerk position here in another division (after a whole .i.t debockle Evil or Very Mad ) I hate it here. Hate. hate. hate.

Well, today I was asked to be an asst accountant (not like you think, lol) for our property managment company. I'm so excited!! I just hope everything goes through and it doesn't end like it did last time. Wish me luck!

We (the company) work in a plaza with 10 suites. We have the three divisions that handle fl and our property managers here on site. So I would only be moving down 4 suites. (it is where texas div was before they moved). So, I will still have the same 7 min comute. Which is a good thing!

Awesome !!! I hope you get it. You'll be raking in the money then! Very Happy

I do AR for my comany, and AP for our location in Arkansas. I started when I was 19 and will be 22 next month. yay! My boss told me a few weeks ago that he plans to make me the Costing Manager eventually, managing standard costs and variances and all that fun stuff.

Wow that is great Christy. Congratulations!

I had two positions in my past where I was working for property management companies. The second one I had wanted to make me a jr. accountant of one of their properties and I took the position only to quit a month later. I had .N.O business in accounting. I majored in Sociology and Photography. That stuff went way over my head.

That is great that you are getting the recognition again... Even though they should have realized it a long time ago.

Good luck

Everything went though today!! I am so happy I can't help but sit here with this stupid grin on my face. lol. And the move isn't 'public' yet, so I'm not suppose to say anything. I have had 3 people ask me why I'm so happy. lol. I just thought I would share the good news. Thank for all the luck...it did the trick!

Oh, and I move over on July 9th. So not very long!

In a way, I feel kinda special knowing before anyone else. But, I would love nothing more that to rub it in a few peoples faces. But, I'm a grown-up....So I have to fight the urge. Rolling Eyes It is going to tick off quite a few people. (hence, why it isn't public yet)

Congratulations Christy, I hope you do good in your new position...I know you will.

The same thing happened to me a couple years ago when I was getting my promotion. My boss was out sick durring a very busy time, she did that a lot so the big bosses were fed up with it and they finally did something about it. They called me in their office and said we are going to fire Sarah, but we are going to move you up to her position. Needless to say I was like Shocked Shocked . What??? They told me not to say anything to anyone else yet, because they hadn't fired her yet - she wasn't there. Well I could barely contain myself when I came out of the office. I ran and got my cell and called everyone I knew that didn't work with me. I just had to tell someone. I actually didn't make it through the day... I made my coworker (a good friend as well) swear not to say a word... I was just so excited I had to tell someone. I don't keep secrets very well.
