Q: Yaz Help - Missed Period

Last month I missed two pills in the third week of my cycle taking Yaz 28 day cycle, so the instructions were to throw away the rest of my pills and start a new pack meaning I would miss my period for that month.

In Yaz there are 24 pills 4 white pills at the end meaning you have about 4 days of your period. I have taken three of the white pills now and still haven't started my period. I'm a little paranoid now, and since I missed my period last month (from starting a new cycle since I missed pills) I thought I would start early or even have breakthrough bleeding but I haven't, and haven't started my period so I'm a little worried.

Is everything okay? Like I said I'm just paranoid so I'm wondering if this is normal. I'm not sexually active and have not been for two months.

Should I start my new pack of pills even if I don't have a period or should I wait until I start my period to take a new pack? I am on the last pill meaning I would start the new pack tomorrow.

The pills will not hurt a developing pregnancy, if that's what you're worried about. I would test if you don't get your period, and continue taking the pills for another month. If you don't get it again but the test was negative, I'd test one more time just in case (for my own personal peace of mind) and if it was still negative... well, some of the lo-dose pills can cause women to no longer get their periods. It can be a normal side effect.

Actually I just mainly want to know if I should continue taking the pills as usual or if I should wait to have my period and then start taking them again.

Or if it's possible that I could be pregnant! I had my period as usual the first cycle after I stopped being sexually active and then missed my second period because I had to start a new cycle because of missed pills. Now I'm missing this one too so I'm worried that it isn't healthy to be missing another one.

Yaz
Keep taking your pills, don't wait for a period.

It sounds as if there's very very little chance of pregnancy.

Yaz
I just started Yaz 4 months ago and I haven't had a period in two months. I was just going to pick up an early pregnancy test to be sure but from the sounds of it, it is the nature of this pill. It's been nice not having my period but at the same time, I am panicking that I am pregnant. Have more people been experiencing the same symptoms of this pill?

Yaz
well, i took a pregnancy test and it was negative but i still haven't bled on this pill since April and it is now almost July. Is that good for a womans body? Shouldn't we bleed?

It's totally healthy not to bleed. Seasonique makes you have 4 periods a year, depo can be taken so you never have one.

i'm like you, i'd freak out if it didnt come..thats why i was worried about this pill..because I've heard it isn't uncommon on such a low dose to just completely miss a period..i like my period..it eases my mind lol..i've been on this pill for 3 months now.the past 2 months strangely i haven't gotten my period until the very last white pill..which, during month 2 i was flippin out because i thought like you it was supposed to come on the first placebo pill and last those 4 days that you were on the placebos..i just finished my 3rd pack and again my period didn't come until the very last placebo pill...maybe yours is like mine? i dont know..

Yes, you should Smile

That's because it's actually "withdraw" bleeding, and the period you had during the month is actually spotting.

Once you go on the placebo week (white week I guess?) you will stop putting hormones into your body. You're still safe from pregnancy though! This drop in hormones prompts bleeding.

Are the white pills the placebo pills?

Some forms of birth control (I think Yaz is one of them) can make a woman skip her period all together. If you're nervous, just take a pregnancy test. But if you've been taking the pills every day within a few hours of each other, you should be fine.

Yaz B C Pills --late Starting My Period Took Antibiotics!
I've been taking YAZ Birth Control Pills for about 10 months now. My periods have been somewhat regular since I started YAZ, one month I was about 5 or 6 days late. Last month I had a bladder infection and took Levaquin (an antibiotic) for 10 days, while I continued my YAZ pills daily. I had sex 7 days after finishing up the antibiotic. I am now 5 days late on my period. Any one have any clue?

I got a forward on my email about a woman dying from Seasonique. I guess she got blood clots on the brain and it killed her Sad

ALL birth control caries a risk of clot if I recall, so yes, it can happen. However, it is extremely rare. Progesterone only kinds may not, I don't remember. But all combo pills/mixes CAN cause clotting. That is why it is absolutely imperative that you do not smoke while on birth control.

Yeah I'm looking in to starting YAZ. I hope it can help me balance my body out again! Anyone have anymore to say about it? I've been on the ring and the patch and I bleed all the time. I've had a bunch of tests recently to make sure everything is ok and it so they have to switch my BC again! Any other opinions on others? To SLH just wait it out you might just be skipping this month it happens with YAZ. Hope that helps!

And I've been under a tremendous amount of stress for the past 2 months, could that be why I've skipped my period?? I still have not started my period, I've had cramps like I'm going to start, but no bleeding yet and now I'm 7 days late.
