Help!! I Dont Understand Wats Happened.. Have I Misscarried Posted: 06-20-07 09:20am
ok since i last posted i have been to the
doctors and she put me onto levlen ed
28pill however she stated that i could
not start taking the pill till the start
of my next period and since i was half way
throught one at that point it ment i had
to wait a month before starting the pill.
after a month went by i was all ready and
prepareed to take the pill and have my
period and then nothing so i assumed a few
days give or take wouldnt matter when it
started ..... then after almost 2 weeks i
decoided that it was odd for it to have
been regular sor the 1st 3 months of the
year then nothing so i did a home
pregnancy test which came up negitive much
to my parter and myown relief however we
waited a little longer and still nothing
then on of my coworkers suggested that i
just start taking them as though it was my
period and hope it kicks in well so far it
sounded like a good idea so i did. when i
go to the next round of white pills i
noticed my period starting a big relief
however when i was last in the toilet i
noticed that on my pad there was a strange
looked membrane upon closer inspection it
was mostly white and see through with red
clots on it now i must admitt that this
has never happed before to me and i was
not sure if it was part of the medication
or if i had actually been pregnant and
taking the pill caused it to misscarry.
any information that can be shed on this
would be gretfull as i dont know what to
think my breast have been slightly tender
and my stomach was a little bloated
however i put that dont to the period
onset .

Birth control will not cause you to
miscarry. That combined with a negative
pregnancy test, leads me to believe that
your cycle was just late. It may be caused
by switching birth control (which I assume
is what you did). Just continue to take
your pills as directed.

IF you had miscarried, a pregnancy test
still would come up positive for 2-3 weeks
afterwards.
That first negative test says you were not
pregnant.
You likely had a pretty large blood clot!
That is normal.

The strange thing on your pad sounds like
a blood clot. Blood clots are very common
and normal. Of course, if you were having
sex it was possible that you were pregnant
and miscarried without even knowing you
were ever pregnant. It happens.
.B.U.T don't worry. If you did have a
miscarriage, it was not caused by the
birth control. Birth control pills do not
harm a z/e/f and do not have a negative
effect on the body's ability to continue a
pregnancy.
Most likely, it was just a blood clot. No
worries.

hmm thanks for the replies ... i might try
taking a hpt tomorrow and see what it says
from memory the last time i had
unprotected sex was only 2weeks ago and i
did the tests earlier than that ... there
was a few large clots as well as the
membrane in there however the membrane was
more a white or gray color not red

It is possible, though if you were, I
don't know if there would be enough
horomones left for the hpt to detect.
Anyone know how long horomones stick
around for?

The amount of hermones that would be left
in your system would directly rely on how
far along you were.
