Does anyone know how long it takes after contracting hpv to be able to detect it in a pap smear?

Hpv ----as in human papilloma virus??? A pap smear can detect it, but it can reoccur...So if u ever do get it I believe u have to go get biopsies and usually they freeze your cervix --- then u have to go for a pap in 1,3,6,and 12 month increments, then being clean that long, u can go back to once a year
