Q: will the loud music hurt her little ears ?

I feel kinda stupid asking this but I was just wondering...

My boyfriend has a college gig tonight, rock music. He's bought me a ticket to go and I really want to go and have arranged to meet people to go and stuff. It'll be loud music, non smoking, and lots of people. If I stood at the back and was careful not to be bumped in to would it be ok to go? Like will the loud music hurt her little ears? lol. I'm 27.1 sooo, what do you all think?

HI!! I think you will be ok, just make sure (like you said) that you are careful not to get pushed around, etc..... Loud music over a long period of time can be harmful to baby (over a certain decibal level) but I think if you are far away from a speaker and only there for the concert, you should be ok. PLay it by ear, see how you feel and leave if anything feels "wrong" or you are not comfortable. Other than that, I would say be careful and have a good time!!!

So, I went last night. Sold my ticket to a mate and hanged around outside cos I just couldn't bring myself to go in. Stupid I know but it was too loud for me let alone baby so didn't bother.

Seriously girl i am dying to go to a gig again, i was meant to be going to one last novemeber but i'd just found out i was pregnant and was feeling crappy so didn't go. And now one of my favourate bands are coming over from the us and the closest gig near me is the 7th july so i can't go to that either! What sucks the most is that they're never planning on coming back to the uk to tour after this one Crying

You should have gone. Lots of women go to concerts and it doesn't hurt anything. I actually think most babies like the music and vibration.

i just went to the TOOL concert Shocked it was great! My brother bought me the tickets for my birthday over a month ago.

I think music/ concerts are ok as long as you are not bellied up to the speakers (although that was my fav place to be in a small venue)

Did you have a good time, even if you didn't go in? You didn't happen to take any pics did you?

Hi
This was along time ago, but when I sang in a rock band up until I was 8 months pregnant. Next month I hit the big 50. My daughter hears perfectly fine...but me, I have 30% hearing loss in both ears now and will need hearing aids. Loud music will definatly cause permanent damage. Vacuum cleaners, lawn mowers, even blenders.....I wear ear plugs now for just about any type of noice. I for one am proud you decided to stand outside and not take the chance on something happening....this shows responsibility and unselfishness. You are gonna be a great Mom! Cool

The structures of the fetal ears begin to form about eight weeks after conception. By around 18 weeks, the baby may be startled by a loud, sudden sound. At nearly 26 weeks the inner, outer and middle ears are complete and the baby's ears begin taking in the world around him.

i used to go clubbing when i was pregnant but obviously the music isn't as loud as a gig. now my babies love music. so i guess they loved it in the womb too Laughing

it was loud, but the thing i was mildly concerned about was the distinctive smell wafting from a few rows away... Embarassed Shocked not that i was surprised that much just the smell made me feel sick.

Thanks everyone.

Nope, no pics. Pointless taking pics of the scenery scenes as I couldn't watch my boyfriend play. Crying
