I got what appeared to be a pimple on my forehead in January. It was kinda big, but had all of the qualities of a pimple. I was able to pop it, and the inflammation eventually went down. Since January, the bump seems to swell up, and then go back down. Occasionally it will become dry and peel (sometimes I end up picking at it, but have been leaving it alone recently.) The bump is pretty soft and it is not sore to the touch. I will post a picture of it, and hopefully someone can help give me some kinda of idea on what it may be. I would go see a dermatologist, but I'm currently at college right now and can't see one.

Thanks for any help! (click on the pic for a larger view)

Melanoma
my husband of 25 years passed away in 2003 of nodular malignant melanoma...the deadliest form of skin cancer. The picture you sent definately warrents a look from a Dr., and possibly a dermo, but it doesn't look to me like melanoma. Believe me, I've done a lot of research myself on skin cancers. My husband was blonde, fair skinned and green eyed, five of my six children are fair and blonde, so I am diligent about checking their skin. I myself am native american and lebanese, so my skin type is totally different, but I still check myself. If your spot gets black at all, bleeds, or keeps changing characteristics, please see a Dr. I'm sure local clinics or hospitals will work with your finiances since you are a student. Don't wait Smile better safe than sorry. We thought it was no big deal too!
