Confused this is what my mri says: C-spine= sagittal T1&T2 weighted images were obtained with axial gradient echo datasets. there is preservation of the vertebral heights and marrow signal. Craniocervical junction and cord are WNL without evidence for syrinx or myelomalacia. There is reversal of the normal cervical lordosis. C5&6 there is a central HNP that abuts the cord with mild flattening. there is associated moderate right and mild left foraminal encroachment.C6&7 There is a central HNP that effaces the anterior portion of the cal sac with no cord flattening. No substantive foraminal encroachment. degenerative changes in the mid and lower cervical segments more marked at C5&6 with disc space narrowing and marginal spurring.
L-spine=there are degenerative changes in the mid and lower lumbar segments with disc desiccation more marked at L5-S1 with disc space narrowing, reactive endplate sclerosis and marginal spurring. At L5-S1 there is a broad annular disc bulge with a central disc protrusion that effaces the anterior portion of the thecal sac and abuts the right S1 nerve root with mild displacement. There is a left foraminal and extra-forminal disc bulge that results in moderate/severe left foraminal encroachment with effacement of the left exiting L5 nerve root. there is mild right foraminal encroachment with facet arthropathy.
L4&5 there is a broad noncomprssive annular disc bulge. Now can someone explain this to me in english words please. thanks Sue Brown
